Best Way to Start Meditating : Ali Sami Farooq
If someone tells you that meditation involves freeing the mind, it can be difficult to get started. How exactly do you clear your mind? Check this blog of Ali Sami Farooq to know the how you can Start Meditating.
There's a reason why so many meditative practices involve your breathing. It's a strange thing. Unlike your heart rate, you can quickly and easily control your breath. If you don't consciously control it, though, your unconscious mind takes over and breathes for you.

You can think of your breath - its speed and depth - as the product of conscious and unconscious thought. It's a bridge between two minds. Since meditation consists of giving conscious control to your unconscious mind, it is a great place to start.
Even if you just look at your breath, you'll learn more about yourself than most people do. Your body needs fresh, clean air, and even more during a crisis. If you notice that you are swallowing oxygen, your body is stressed. You might feel good, probably because you've been feeling this way for a while, but you're running out.
If your breath is slow, deep and regular, it means you're relaxed. Your body isn't aiming for a quick hit, but instead making sure every part of you gets the oxygen it needs.
This process works both ways. Just as your mood affects your breath, so your breathing affects your mood. Don't think about its current speed or depth. If you want to relax and get into a meditative trance, slow down and deepen your breath a bit. Even a small change tells your inner mind that you are in a relaxed state.
Focusing on breathing gives the mind something to do. If you are new to meditation (or even experienced enough) this will help you. Not thinking about anything often leads you to think about how you're thinking about anything, which doesn't help. But if you let your breath take up all your attention, you can free your thoughts and relax your body at the same time.
If you feel bored paying attention to your breath, then you are not really paying attention. Take a moment to inhale and exhale through your nose. Notice the feeling of every inhale and exhalation around the nostrils. Focus on the subtle differences with each cycle.
