Ali Sami Farooq : Ideas for easy and healthy dinners

Dinner time can often mean coming home late, looking in the fridge, seeing not a single edible thing, and instead going out for dinner. Here Ali Sami Farooq suggest you to best and easy healthy dinners. Although once a week this is not a big deal, the night begins to get a bit expensive and unhealthy. And then when being unhealthy costs you even more, you really have to start wondering what you're doing. The nice thing is that with a bit of planning and a trip to the supermarket, you can avoid all this.

I want to challenge you to have meals planned in advance and groceries ready and waiting to prepare those meals. It may take the same time to drive to fast food, taste better, help you feel better, and take you to movie star status with your spouse or kids. First let's take a look at some ideas for meals.

Pasta is a great way to do something fast and really delicious. I like to recommend vegetarian noodles because of the extra portion of vegetables you get. Now you can really do whatever you want with pasta. You can use chicken, fish or just vegetables. You can add cheese or not. You can make a creamy sauce with a little cream or not. It's all up to you. I like to make some butter, a clove of chopped garlic, zucchini, shrimp and some tomato and parmesan at the end. It's fresh, so good and super fast. I bet even your most discerning palates might appreciate vegetables.

Another really easy evening meal is Mexican food. With some minced meat (browned), a can of chilli beans, and some chilli powder or taco dressing, you can prepare a few different dishes. You can use this meat with salad, sour cream, avocado and cheese for a fantastic Mexican salad. Or you can make soft tacos or nachos. You could also make a beef quesadilla. If you add a can of diced tomatoes, a little more chilli powder and a pinch of cloves you might have a nice bowl of chilli. All these meals will satisfy the taste buds and leftovers can be frozen for a rainy day.

It wouldn't be a good "easy dinner list" without at least an idea of a pot of snzel, so here it is! If you need one or two chicken meals, you'll definitely enjoy this and it's really flexible for what you want. First put raw chicken breasts on the bottom of the slow-cooked pot. Season with a little salt and pepper at a minimum. I like to add onion powder, chilli powder, cumin and/or some taco dressing. Then unload a can of black beans (drained), a can of corn (drained) and a jar of sauce. Put on low heat for 7-8 hours. When you get home, cut the chicken and enjoy it as tacos, nachos, enchiladas, salad or as it is. If you want a texture more like a soup, add a cup of chicken broth in the morning. You're going to end up with tortilla soup.
