Amazon will open its first grocery store on the UK's high street, with customers shopping without the need to queue at the checkout as ali sami farooq read in the new.The retail giant will launch the first in a series of stores as it opens its doors to its first Amazon Fresh store in Europe.

Shoppers at Amazon's futuristic "contactless" stores will be able to pick up items and leave the store without the need for a checkout.Customers will scan a QR code as they enter the store, with cameras and technology identifying items shoppers take from shelves.

They will then be charged for items through an Amazon app on their mobile phone.

The stores will be similar to the 20 Amazon Go stores the company operates in the US, but will operate under the Fresh brand it uses for its online grocery operations in the UK.
